Paintings
Raised on the occasional watercolor and very regular trips to the Cleveland Museum of Art, John has always admired paintings from afar. A particularly inspirational art history teacher in college brought him closer to the work of 20th century American painters, but he didn't really pick up the brush again until his mid-20s. Under the mindful (and flexible and patient) tutelage of Washington, D.C. artist and teacher Dana Ellyn, John has found painting to be a wonderful outlet, a perfect complement to his photography, and a new passion.

The paintings below are examples of John's work and are not currently for sale. However, John is available to paint new works by commission, using your photos or other materials as inspiration. Prices vary depending on size and complexity. Contact John to work something out!
